Colorful Gemstones Rough - ready to be enjoyed raw or tumble them to bring out the hidden character and colors.

Perfect for your rock collection or as rock tumbling material.

Rough Gemstones are sold by the pound - number of pieces will vary by the batch since they are natural.

We were able to acquire a colorful and unusual mix of natural gemstones from countries all over the world. These lots contain many different gemstone varieties such as amethyst, citrine, rose quartz and more.

These gems are in their natural uncut form, straight from the mine, and range in size approximately 3/4 inch to 1 1/2 inches long, making some of the gems as big as half dollars!

Use these gems to make jewelry, crafts, cut cabochons or spruce up your aquarium. This mix also makes a great gift or teaching tool.

Below is a list of the gem varieties possible in the mix.

Unakite Mix of pink Feldspar and green Epidote. Named for the Unaka Indians of the Appalachian Mtns. (Virginia)

Amethyst Semi-precious Gemstone in a mix of purple colors. Used as the February Birthstone. (India)

Labradorite Translucent grey with flashing bursts of rainbow colors inside the gem. (Madagascar)

Green Aventurine Version of Aventurine in dark to medium green with tiny Mica inclusions in some gems. (India)

Howlite Bright white stone with gray spider web like designs.

Dalmation Named for the spotted dog, Dalmation stone contains black spots on light grey quartzite. (Mexico)

Moss Agate Clear to white agate that contains mossy patterns inside the stone. Often cut into figurines. (India)

Carnelian Popular form agate in a variety of orange colors, sometimes with banding or spots. (India)

Blue Lace Agate Popular form of agate with a light blue color containing lacy, wavy bands. (Namibia)

Turritella Agate Brown agate containing spiral fossil seashells. Great for both fossil collectors. (Wyoming)

Gold Tiger Eye Famous stone known for its shimmering cat's eye effect when rotated in the light. (South Africa)

Sodalite Dark navy blue gem that sometimes contains areas or stripes of white. (Brazil)

Rose Quartz Very popular quartz in a translucent pink color. Often used to sybmolize love. (Brazil)

Snow Quartz Just like the name suggests, this form of quartz is has a very bright snow-white color. (California)

Lemon Quartz Natural yellow color quartz that comes in a variety of translucent shades. (Brazil)

Leopardskin Named for the big cat, Leopardskin has black or red-ringed spots on a cream background. (Mexico)

Amazonite Blue-green gemstone sometimes occurring with areas or lines of white color. (Russia)

Red Jasper Brick red color Jasper that sometimes contains white creamy lines. (South Africa)

Picture Jasper Tan jasper with unusual scenic lines of brown to black or with brown sections. (Idaho)

Snowflake Obsidian Volcanic obsidian with grey ash snowflakes embedded in the gem. (Utah)
