The Keene backpack dredges are equipped with a lightweight BUT heavy-duty 2.5hp Honda 4 cycle engine. The Honda engine doubles the power of the previous models and is much quieter and smoother, produces an unbelievable 100 gallons per minute, and up to 160 feet of head pressure.

The sluice box has been engineered for fine gold recovery and easy clean up. Keene also provides an aluminum frame with grey marlex pontoons.



The model 2004 backpack dredge comes equipped with a power jet or optional suction nozzle. The power jet is ideal for most deep water conditions and provides the most suction power. For extremely shallow water conditions, a suction nozzle is recommended. Due to the impressive power of this new engine and pump, it can be used to power a 4 inch submersible or a 2 1/2 inch gold dredge.

For shallow water dredging, a suction nozzle is recommended. Power Jets tend to lose prime to the pump easier than suction nozzles. For shallow water dredging operations, a suction nozzle is recommended in most cases. On as smaller unit like this back pack dredge, the suction gain from a power jet is pretty negligible.
