We regularly purchase large amounts of natural gold nuggets. We never deal in man made or fake nuggets. We normally pay better than refiners or jewelers for quality placer gold. Avoid rip offs like pawn shops or those national cash for gold businesses - they offer a fraction of the price and do not specialize in natural placer gold. We always advise people to check the competition first and us last. Try local jewelry stores and pawn shops and even the large cash for gold dealers on the internet. Then check our prices last. We don't mind comparison shopping at all. You will be amazed at the difference. How much do you pay for gold? It depends on various factors including: color, purity, size and rarity. In general we pay a certain percentage of the current gold spot price for typical placer gold. Fine flour gold and small picker size gold ( 8 mesh or smaller) will sell for a lower percentage of spot than larger gold. You can check current spot prices at www.kitco.com. In general you can expect to receive approx. 20% under spot for fine gold and more for larger pieces. How do I sell to Gold Fever Prospecting? Selling your placer gold to us is easy. Just follow these simple steps - see below. When you are ready to sell, please email us with quality pictures of your gold and its weight in grams to get our current prices. (If you don't know the weight or mesh size please see below for help.) After we receive your email and confirm a purchase price we will lock in your transaction and you will receive a confirmation number. Next step: Securely package your items and ship them to us within 24 hours fully insured. Safe arrival is your responsibility. For your protection, we strongly recommend that you fully insure your package and ship it by Express mail with the USPS. Registered mail is the most secure method but it can delay shipments by a few days. You should also wrap your items very securely, include a detailed packaging slip with your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number and confirmation number. Next, after mailing call or email us within 24 hours or reply via e-mail with the Express Mail number or UPS/Fed-Ex tracking number. When we receive your package we will send payment within 48 hours in one of 2 ways: PayPal or business check sent priority mail or standard mail. The decision is up to you. Direct bank wire and overnight payments are negotiable for larger purchases. What if I don't know the weight or gold mesh size? No problem. If you are unable to determine size or weight we will accept the gold, weigh it accurately down to the 100th of a gram, measure the size and report back to you. You may accept our offer or reject it but insured shipping expenses must be born by you if you decide to have the gold returned. I would like to personally deliver my gold to you. Can I do that? Yes. You may deliver your gold to us at our office in California by pre-arranged appointment only. We are active buyers of all types and sizes of natural placer gold, especially smaller mesh to larger nuggets. We do NOT deal in fake or man made gold or in scrap gold. When will I receive my payment? When we receive your package and confirm quality and weight description is accurate we will send payment within 24-48 hours in one of 2 ways: PayPal or business check sent priority mail or standard mail. The decision is up to you. Direct bank wire and overnight payments are negotiable for larger purchases. Seller is responsible for expedited services if requested, including extra mailing or bank fees. What happens if I don't send in the gold after a price has been confirmed? Your transaction will automatically be canceled if you do not contact us within 24 business hours with the registered mail or tracking number. Furthermore, you may not be permitted to buy or sell to us in the future. If you call in with the registered mail or tracking number and we do not receive the items within 5 business days and the delay is due to the USPS, UPS or Federal Express, we may extend the deadline on a case by case basis. Do you accept gold trade-ins? Can I trade for a different size nugget? Yes. We are always looking for new gold. We can swap your gold out for other sizes. Please contact us in advance to make sure we have what you need in stock. If we don't the right size in stock we can usually order what you need. There may also be significant tax benefits for you as well. Selling your assets that you may have purchased at higher levels to realize a capital loss and then purchasing a similar product although different enough to avoid the IRS wash sale rule will allow you to keep your position and possibly realize a capital loss.
