New Features for 2010:

The carry strap is removable and extends to 54 inches so that it can be used as a hand or shoulder strap. This allows the carry strap to be easily removed when the sluice is in action.

The riffles now feature a Uni-Body construction which is lighter and does not require welding. The riffles are precision laser cut from a single piece of 18 gauge steel and then formed into ultra light, sturdy steel riffles. These are then zinc plated for long rust-free service. This innovation cuts about one pound off the total weight, from 8.4 pounds last year to 7.4 pounds on the new design.

The expanded diamond cut steel has also been replaced with lighter, rust free, expanded aluminum.

The sluice body is now designed to lock rigidly in place when the sluice is unfolded. This takes care of the most common complaint about the prior models in that they would fold up when you tried to pick them up out of the stream. This neat full size sluice box is Only 9" x 14" x 4" when folded so it is a very compact and portable package.

Unfolded it is a formidable 9 inch x 50 inch stream sluice that weighs only 7.5 pounds.

This is the perfect sluice for the backpacker or the gold prospector that has space issues for traveling or storage but wants the increased material volume of a larger full size stream sluice.

The Backpacker sluice even fits in a 5-gallon bucket. It folds out from a 15" compact "box" to a full functioning 50" sluice. Even the flared feeder fits inside when folded. All nuts and bolts used are Stainless Steel so no need to worry about rust. Riffles are made of quality steel and are coated with zinc for extra protection. It's also easy to pack in a suitcase for air travel to your favorite claim.

The recovery system includes ribbed matting, and zinc coated steel riffles over ribbed carpeting. Clean-up is very simple just remove a couple of wing nuts and wash into a 5 gallon bucket or your gold pan. You can also add optional miners moss (not included) below.
